Jerilderie Golf Club Unveils Major Course Upgrades

POSTED ON May 5, 2025 @ 2:44 pm

Jerilderie Golf Club has completed a significant renovation just in time for their busy tournament season. With crucial support from the NSW Golf Foundation, the club recently unveiled automated watering systems on the 14th and 15th fairways and greens, alongside brand-new tee and sponsor signs throughout the entire course.

The refreshed course made its debut during the Royal Children’s Good Friday Appeal Charity Golf and Bowls Day, welcoming over 200 golfers for the Ambrose competition. The timing couldn’t be better, as the club prepares to host full fields for the upcoming Jerilderie Women’s, Mixed and Men’s Annual Tournaments and the WRDGA 2025 Women’s Pennant Competition starting next Monday.

Looking ahead to mid-June, the club anticipates more than 180 golfers will participate in the annual MND Charity Golf Day, a fundraiser that holds special significance for the club community. These events are expected to draw players from across the Southern Riverina region of NSW.

The newly installed tee signs replace outdated versions that had been in place since the early 1960s. This modernization brings course information up to date, displaying all three course options—white, blue, and red—along with the composite 9-hole course for members and visitors to enjoy.

The golf club committee has expressed their sincere gratitude to both the NSW Golf Foundation (the not-for-profit arm of Golf NSW) and the Jerilderie Sports Club Board for their generous funding and support. This investment has not only updated course information and sponsor recognition but also enhanced the picturesque 18-hole course situated on the banks of Billabong Creek and the entrance to Jerilderie township.

“Without the support of both the Golf NSW Foundation and Jerilderie Sports Club Board, this project may not have been possible,” noted Julie Sleigh. The upgrades are expected to attract travelers, guests, and community members to experience the revitalized course, located 617 kilometers southwest of Sydney in the heart of the Riverina region.

The club also extended special thanks to all sponsors, volunteers, and community members who contributed their time and expertise to make this project a reality, from collaborating on updated tee information and sponsor designs to the fabrication and installation of the signs.
