POSTED ON September 15, 2025 @ 2:05 pm

Are you looking to become a part of an exciting team?

Do you want to work outdoors in a beautiful environment?

Then look no further.

The Opportunity

Ryde Parramatta Golf Club is a championship golf club known for its immaculate greens, stunning landscapes, and exceptional member experience.

Our long-term Course Superintendent has resigned to take up another position outside of Sydney.  We are thus seeking a new  Course Superintendent to lead our dedicated on-course team. This role offers the chance to take ownership of course presentation and agronomic programs while playing a strategic role in the future development of the course. We are about to embark on the first stages of our recently approved course master plan, working alongside Craig Parry Design. These works will commence in November 2025, so for the successful candidate, you will hit the ground running.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Superintendent will manage all aspects of turf and landscape maintenance, irrigation, and equipment, ensuring a consistently high standard of course presentation for members.

This hands-on leadership role is ideally suited to a Superintendent or experienced Assistant Superintendent looking to lead a private golf club through its next stage of growth and development.

About you

You must have recognised qualifications in turf management, with at least 5 years’ experience in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role. A strong agronomic knowledge, with proven experience managing Bent/Poa-annua greens and kikuyu fairways an advantage.  Your capabilities include:

  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, soil management, irrigation systems, pest control, and equipment operation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends (when required)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • An open and innovative approach to driving course improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement turfgrass maintenance programs.
  • Manage irrigation systems, pest control, fertilisation, and mowing schedules.
  • Lead, develop and motivate our on-course team.
  • Leverage and motivate our strong cohort of volunteers
  • Monitor course conditions and adjust practices to ensure optimal playability.
  • Prepare annual course management budgets and manage expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with club management on course improvements and renovations.

This is a full-time position with occasional weekend work.  Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
