Since 1896, Northern Golf Club has been providing members with unrivaled golfing and social experiences.  The club is now ideally positioned for significant growth.

It provides a highly regarded 18-hole golf course, a driving range, and recently upgraded modern facilities, including a clubhouse, with bar and bistro. It is enjoying high demand for membership, a strong financial position, and is ideally located just 12 minutes from Melbourne International airport, and 20 minutes from the vibrant Melbourne CBD and the famous sporting and cultural precincts that Melbourne offers.

The role

We are now seeking a new General Manager to lead this great club.  You will be actively involved in all aspects of the club and responsible for all operations.  You will be supported by highly credentialed Directors, all very capable in golf management and business management at a high level.  Together, you will help drive Northern into one of the top 100 courses in Australia and establish a vibrant and aspirational culture that puts Northern as the go to club for all golfers, from pennant champions to beginners.

Your priorities will be to lead, support and develop a high-performing team; deliver high-quality communication, facilities, services, and member experiences; and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the club. The role demands a visible and engaging General Manager, with a desire to lead.

To be considered for the role you are likely to possess the following attributes:

• Active leadership, with demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality member experiences, by a high-performing team.
• Commercial experience, with a background in building effective relationships, achieving revenue growth, and delivering profitable outcomes.
• Business acumen, including hospitality, finance, governance, and compliance management.

It is essential that you are a friendly, independent and a highly motivated person with good communication and personal skills that match the club’s culture, with a presence to represent the club confidently and capably.  Experience in management of a member-focused business, with golf knowledge and/or experience, are essential.
