Green Acres Golf Club is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development as a leading private golf club in Melbourne’s inner-east. With a strong membership base and a commitment to delivering exceptional member and guest experiences, the Golf Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership across golf operations and retail services.
Working from within the Golf Centre and reporting to the General Manager, this senior leadership role is responsible for all golf-related activities at the club, revenue growth, operational excellence, and team performance, including overseeing PGA-led coaching programs, events, retail, and facility utilisation.
The successful candidate will be a strategic and commercially astute golf industry professional with proven leadership experience, a strong understanding of golf business operations, and the ability to lead a high-performing team in alignment with the Club’s purpose, values, strategic plans, and policies.
Position Summary
The Golf Operations Manager is responsible for upholding the strategic direction and leading the day-to-day performance of the Golf Centre. This position is suited to an experienced leader with a demonstrated ability to increase participation, enhance member experience, and support the Club’s commercial and operational objectives.
Leading a team of PGA professionals and support staff, the Golf Operations Manager will foster a collaborative, service-focused culture that delivers high standards across all areas of the golf operation. Weekend work is expected and required, and forms part of the regular working hours of the role.
Key Qualities & Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Golf industry experience in a senior golf operations role
- High-level knowledge of the Rules of Golf, etiquette and equipment
- Advanced understanding of relevant golf management software (MiClub, NorthStar, Golf Connect) and computer literacy
- Strategic thinking and experience in growing golf operations and participation
- Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams
- Strong commercial and operational management skills
- Excellent communication and Sub-Committee and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to analyse data and make informed business decisions
- Passion for delivering outstanding member and guest experiences
Remuneration Package
- Salary: Commensurate with experience, range $90-$100K + super
