Founded in 1924, Southport Golf Club is recognised as one of the premier private member clubs on the Gold Coast. The professional team in the club-owned golf shop manages all aspects of golf for members and their guests. The Club enjoys a thriving membership of over 1,500, with approximately 55,000 rounds played annually.
The Role
An opportunity exists to join Southport Golf Club in the role of Full-Time Golf Operations Supervisor. We are seeking a natural leader with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven golf industry experience.
This is a hands-on supervisory role working closely with the Golf Operations Manager and wider operations team. You will be involved in all aspects of a high-level golf operation, ensuring the smooth delivery of daily services and an exceptional member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare all golf timesheets in accordance with Club policies.
- Set up, run, and close Club competitions and special events, ensuring accurate results and prize allocations.
- Coordinate and manage corporate, group, and visitor golf bookings.
- Ensure the Club website is updated with competition results, holes-in-one, and related content.
- Review and develop Conditions of Play.
- Assist with rostering, staff supervision, and mentoring of junior team members.
- Support retail and merchandising operations.
- Oversee daily golf shop operations, including golf cart management and driving range.
- Build and assist with pennant teams and interclub events.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver member and Club events.
What You Will Bring
- Strong golf knowledge, including understanding of the Rules of Golf.
- Excellent club repair and equipment maintenance skills (essential).
- Experience in club fittings and sales (essential)
- A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to follow and implement Club policies and procedures.
- Experience with MiClub software (essential).
- Previous experience in a similar golf operations or supervisory role (desirable).
