JOB: Head Golf Professional – Mollymook Golf Club (Sydney)
The Club
Mollymook Golf Club is looking for an experienced PGA Professional for the position of Head Golf Professional to manage the daily golf operations over 27 holes for both our 18 hole Hilltop course, and our 9 hole Beachside course. The position will be based at the Hilltop Golf Shop.

About us
Mollymook Golf Club is located 3 hours south of Sydney and 2.5 hours east of Canberra on the beautiful south coast of NSW. The club is quite unique with two separate clubhouses and courses located 2 kilometres apart in Mollymook.
The challenging 18 hole Hilltop course ranks in every Top 100 ranking list in Australia and was voted as the number 3 course in “Australia’s Top 50 Favourite Courses” as voted by the public in Golf Australia magazine’s 2020 rankings.
Our picturesque 9 hole Beachside course is very popular with locals and tourists with ocean views overlooking both Collers and Mollymook beaches. The Beachside clubhouse caters for over 1,000 people at any one time and boasts some of the best clubhouse views in the world.
Mollymook Golf Club is very busy facility with over 1,300 golf members, 10,000 social members and over 100,000 visitors a year. The club averages around 75,000 rounds a year over the 27 holes.

About the role
This is a very important employed position within our Club. You will oversee and maintain all facets of the golf operation. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to golf staff. You will promote and nurture customer relations and enhance the quality of the golf experience. You will be responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Oversee daily golf operations at both Hilltop and Beachside including tee time management, member competitions, local rules, merchandise/stock ordering and processing, monthly stocktakes, cart fleet and may assist with Food and Beverage operations.
- Creates a customer service orientated atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members. Ensures that staff provide a high level of customer service.
- Performs opening or closing procedures for the Golf Shop and Hilltop Clubhouse.
- Implement club policies to members and visitors including course policy, cart policy, speed of play and so forth.
- Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
- Conduct private club fitting for members as required.
- Provides leadership and vision to golf staff, building people, and preparing them for career advancement.
- Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests.
- Manage the Junior Golf Academy.
- Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Trainee Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Golf Shop Supervisor and Golf Operations Attendants.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new staff member. Develops ongoing training programs.
- Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Key selection criteria
- Be a certified member of the PGA.
- Minimum of five years experience in a similar position.
- Have good attention to detail with a high level of accuracy with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in Point Of Sale (POS) systems and MiClub golf software preferred.
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
- Boast a strong work ethic.
- Have the ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work well under pressure.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, professionalism and sensitivity.
- Will require NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Will require NSW Responsible Conduct of Gaming Certificate.
