JOB: Operations Manager (AU/NZ) – Centaur Asia Pacific

About

Centaur Asia Pacific has been operating for over twenty years throughout Asia and in 2020 opened an office in Brisbane to service the Queensland market. New opportunities across the region have now opened more doors for the company and this newly created position presents an opportunity for the right person to build the current small operation into a nationally recognised entity.

Although the company’s focus has been primarily construction and maintenance solutions in the golf world, the aim is to take their products and services into the sports fields, parks and gardens, and equestrian facilities markets.

The role

This position oversees the company’s operation for Australia and New Zealand and is potentially a remote/flexible office location based on discussions between the Managing Director and the successful applicant.

A little about you:

  • Office Mastery: Exhibit proficiency in managing daily office operations, including overseeing administrative tasks, correspondence management, and logistical coordination.
  • Project Knowledge: have reasonable knowledge and/or interest of golf, sports field, and landscape construction and design and be able to discuss this at a fair level with clients of all levels.
  • Business Acumen: Bring your expertise to the table by providing comprehensive support across multiple business domains, ranging from finance to project coordination.
  • Effective Communication: Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling seamless interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders, including golf and sports field architects, turf managers, contractors, government entities, and product principals.
  • Organizational Agility: Showcase your adeptness in managing schedules, appointments, and contributing to project tracking.
  • Tech Savviness: Demonstrate familiarity with office software, coupled with the ability to swiftly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Stand out by identifying challenges, formulating innovative solutions, and collaboratively streamlining processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Adaptability Enthusiast: Flourish in a dynamic environment, eagerly embracing new tasks and responsibilities that contribute to the company’s holistic functioning.
  • Meticulous Detail-Oriented Mindset: Display meticulousness in tasks such as record-keeping, document preparation, and data management, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Required Skillset:

  • Experiences:
    • Capacity to excel as an All-Rounder, adeptly managing diverse office and field functions which often include on-site and hands-on interactions.
    • Excellent people skills allow you to network and communicate easily with everyone in all situations.
    • Familiar with general accounting tasks inclusive of bookkeeping, cashflow reports, budgets, sales, and operation reports
    • Knowledge of the game of Golf with a keen interest in Sports in general
    • Experience in preparing and presenting sales proposals,
    • Ability to drive a vehicle (with licenses for any heavier equipment a plus)

Like to have:

  • Experience or competency in ACAD/GPS systems for map software
  • Experience in Sports turf management and construction-related roles (preferred but not essential)
  • An existing network in the local golf club market with an advantage being a network in sports stadiums and councils.
