JOB: Royal Adelaide Golf Club – General Manager (SA)

Established in 1892, Royal Adelaide is one of Australia’s most prestigious golf clubs, located in Australia’s most liveable city.

Royal Adelaide provides members with a world-renowned golf course, inspired by Dr Alister MacKenzie. The course, which wraps around distinctive sand dunes, is rated in the Top 10 in Australia and the Top 100 in the world. The club enjoys an international reputation for providing a world-class golf experience successfully having hosted many major golf events, such as the Men’s and Women’s Australian Open tournaments.

The traditional-style clubhouse provides a warm and welcoming environment for members to relax and enjoy the club’s hospitality. Extensive practice facilities provide opportunities for members to maintain and improve their game. The club is in a strong financial position and committed to enhancing its premium golf club offerings.

We are now seeking a new General Manager to lead the pre-eminent golf club into a prosperous future. You will be actively involved in all aspects of the club and responsible for all operations.  Your success will enable the club’s committee to focus on the strategic direction of the club.

Your priorities will be to develop a high-performing service team, deliver the club’s strategic plan, and assist the evolution of the club’s governance approach. The role demands a General Manager with a desire to lead from the front and actively engage with members, their families, guests, and the employment team.

To be considered for the role you are likely to possess the following attributes:

  • Inspiring leadership, with a focus on delivering a world-class golf course and outstanding member experiences by a high-performing employment team, particularly hospitality.
  • A strategic approach, with the successful execution of strategic and annual business plans.
  • Impressive record in club management, with effective governance and compelling business acumen.

 

It is essential that you are a friendly, independent and motivated person, with good communication and personal skills that match Royal Adelaide’s unique culture.  Golf knowledge and/or experience is preferred.
