JOB: The National – Chief Executive Officer (Victoria)

The National is a private members club that offers a golfing experience unlike any other.

Located on two exceptional sites on Melbourne’s spectacular Mornington Peninsula, The National offers members and guests 72-holes of outstanding golf, first-class facilities, and premium clubhouse services.

From the breathtaking natural beauty of Cape Schanck, which enjoys stunning coastal and rural views, to the challenging Long Island layout within easy reach of the Melbourne CBD, The National is one of the great golf complexes anywhere in the world.

We are now recruiting an experienced CEO to lead this unique club.  As the executive leader of the club, and principal advisor to the Board, your role is pivotal to the successful management and operation of The National.  Your overriding objective is to lead the club as it strives to meet the needs and high expectations of its members.

Your priorities will be to provide strong operational, strategic, and people leadership; deliver the highest-quality contemporary golf, hospitality, and social experiences for members, family, and friends; and progress and develop opportunities that will evolve and enhance the facilities, services, experiences, and value offered by The National.

To be considered for the role you are likely to possess the following attributes:

• Dynamic leadership, with a record on delivering both the highest-quality member experiences by a high-performing service team and an effective business strategy by a high-performing Board.
• Strategic focus, including knowledge of relevant market trends and successful development and execution of the strategic, project, and annual business plans.
• A high degree of business acumen, with experience in achieving strategic growth, innovation, and commercial success.

It is essential that you are friendly, independent, and a motivated person, with strong communication and personal skills that match the club’s unique culture.  Considerable golf knowledge and/or experience is vital.

A competitive and attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be commensurate with the quality and scale of The National’s business ($16M+ revenue / 150+ employees), the executive leadership role of the CEO, and your credentials.
