Mount Maunganui Golf Club (NZ) to open on-site gym and yoga
Club members of the Mount Maunganui Golf Club are voting on plans for the facility to commence a gym and yoga operation, open to the public, on-site in their clubhouse.
A decision on Studio 18, as the gym will be called, is expected next week.
Health and fitness club owner Barry Muntz, together with his brother and businessman Brett Muntz, is behind the proposal and will fund the construction of the facility on the lower level of the existing clubhouse in return for a lease on the space for 18 years.
The venture will see New Zealand’s first golf-specific training facility for elite and club players alike and the golf club has reportedly said it views the project as offering numerous advantages to club members and the overall operation.
