New Kid on The Block 4 Pines Landers Pocket Named Queensland’s Best Pub

POSTED ON June 4, 2026 @ 4:00 pm

BRISBANE, QLD – In the competitive landscape of Australian hospitality, establishing a reputation usually takes decades of poured pints, community storytelling, and local loyalty. Yet, a homegrown newcomer in Brisbane has shattered the traditional timeline.

Open for just 190 days, the all-new 4 Pines Landers Pocket brewery and entertainment precinct has officially taken out Queensland’s Best Pub. The prestigious top honour, presented by the Queensland Government, sees the rookie venue beat out established institutions with decades on the clock, barely six months after first opening its doors in November 2025.

The meteoric rise of the 800-person mega-venue is backed by staggering numbers. Since its inception, the precinct has served a quarter of a million drinks, plated over 100,000 food items, and poured more than 71,250 litres of beer through its taps. But while the locally brewed Landers Lager and onsite-distilled Landers Lime gin (crafted with distilling partner Never Never) have been major drawcards, it is the precinct’s seamless integration of a world-class, entertainment-driven golf offering that has truly redefined the Queensland pub experience.

A New Era of Entertainment: Where Golf Meets Gastronomy

At the heart of the precinct’s runaway success is its unique dual identity. Landers Pocket combines the massive 4 Pines brewery with Golf Central, Brisbane’s premier off-course golf complex. Together, they have transformed the site into a multi-faceted destination where visitors don’t just pop in for a quick drink—they arrive with purpose and stay much longer than planned.

The golf offering at Landers Pocket caters to everyone from elite ball-strikers to casual weekend socialisers. The precinct features high-tech, entertainment-driven play bays where guests have already smashed an astonishing 8 million-plus golf shots since the venue launched. For those looking for a more relaxed, family-friendly challenge, the precinct’s dedicated mini-golf course, Landers Links, has already seen 26,306 rounds played.

By merging cutting-edge golf technology with a vibrant hospitality atmosphere, Landers Pocket has successfully tapped into a growing global trend: “eatertainment.” It is an approach that has resonated deeply with a diverse crowd, ranging from corporate functions and after-work crowds to international tourists and young families.

Backed by Locals, Celebrated by the State

The venue’s rapid ascendancy was officially recognised on Queensland Day, a fitting milestone for a project that prides itself on being independently Queensland-owned, developed, and operated.

“Queenslanders love their pubs, and we are honoured to have been voted as Queensland’s Best Pub this Queensland Day,” said James Cooper, Managing Director of Landers Pocket.

“Our objective was to create a destination that catered for the entire family and a venue to offer great food, terrific beer, great service, and plenty of activities, particularly around the great game of golf. To be awarded Queensland’s Best Pub after just seven months is particularly satisfying and a terrific accolade for our brilliant team who have worked tirelessly.”

The state’s leadership also threw its support behind the homegrown success story. Queensland Premier, The Honourable David Crisafulli MP, praised the community spirit driving the venue’s popularity, noting that the achievement represents “Queenslanders backing Queenslanders and getting behind the local spots and businesses that they love.”

The Beginning of a Bigger Journey

For 4 Pines Brewing Co., a brand that started from a post-surf chat between a father and son in Manly back in 2008, the Queensland accolade marks a historic chapter in its eastern seaboard expansion. Now a national staple with 17 venues, the brand has maintained its B-Corp certification and commitment to quality despite having cranked out nearly 400 million pints over the years.

Andrew McLaren, General Manager of 4 Pines Brewing Co., emphasised that the Brisbane venue’s explosive debut is merely the foundation for future innovation.

“This is awesome recognition for the team… the sprint to get the doors open and deliver an exceptional experience from day one has been recognised by the people of Queensland,” McLaren said. “This is just the beginning, we will brew our way to bigger and better things in the years ahead!”

With millions of golf balls already tracked, tens of thousands of meals served, and a freshly minted title as the best pub in the state, 4 Pines Landers Pocket has firmly cemented itself as the new gold standard for Australian hospitality.
