NGCOA Adds Golf Surprize to Its Smart Buy Marketplace Line-up

Mobile platform thanks, encourages and rewards golfers for playing;  reduces dependence on discounting

CHARLESTON, S.C.  – The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) has added Golf Surprize as its latest NGCOA Smart Buy Marketplace Partner. Golf Surprize encourages golfers to book directly with the club by creating “Reward Days” or “Reward Times” with chances to win club credit and other prizes. Golf Surprize’s rewards program is also a great way for courses to thank golfers who are returning to play golf after the coronavirus-related temporary closures and/or mandated stay at home orders. For 60 days, Golf Surprize has completely waived the one time $550 set up and license fee for NGCOA members and reduced the fee to $200 for non-NGCOA members. Details on the NGCOA offer can be found at surprize.golf.

“NGCOA has been vocal about business practices of third parties that are creating unnecessary discounting of golf,” said NGCOA CEO, Jay Karen. “We encourage our members to work with companies that facilitate direct engagement with customers and add value to the tee time in lieu of cutting prices, and that’s what Golf Surprize does. Their platform incentivizes and rewards the golfer, and we need more of that.”

Once players provide their mobile number at check-in, they simply enter their golf scores or on-course experiences into the Golf Surprize platform after the round and earn a chance to win instant credit that can be redeemed in the Pro Shop or clubhouse, or be eligible for rewards and prizes from Golf Surprize partners. Better yet, winners typically spend 2.6 times their reward at the course. Most important to owners, Golf Surprize helps golf businesses gain valuable feedback from customer’s on-course experiences and ethically build customer databases with names, mobile numbers and emails every time they use it.

“Golf courses have seen the dangers and detriments of discounting, and Golf Surprize is the common-sense solution to discounts,” said Anthony Robinson, Founder and President of Golf Surprize. “We’re excited to work with golf clubs to help them instantly offer their customers more value from their regularly-priced green fee, drive more customers who like to spend at their courses, build better databases, provide a more exciting experience, and help create deeper, more dynamic relationships with their customers.”
