Public Golf To Remain In Oakleigh

POSTED ON February 28, 2024 @ 11:15 am

Following a community consultation process in the second half of 2023, Monash Council has resolved to retain Oakleigh Golf Course as a nine-hole public golf course for the foreseeable future.

Monash Mayor Cr Nicky Luo said the decision was made following strong support from users and the golfing community to retain the site for golf.

“From September to November last year, we invited our community to provide feedback on the future of our Oakleigh Golf Course,” said Cr Luo.

“Over nine weeks we heard from close to 1,800 people both online and at in-person feedback sessions at the golf course.

“We heard that the community especially values Oakleigh Golf Course because of the role it plays for people learning the game as an affordable, shorter, and easier course than others in inner-Melbourne.

“Thank you to everyone who completed our survey or attended one of our information sessions,” added Cr Luo.
