See how Australia/NZ Courses Ranked In ‘World Top 100 Golf Courses’ List

POSTED ON June 14, 2025 @ 1:52 pm

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list.

Most members of the World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others.

In Australia, the Royal Melbourne Golf Club (West Course) in Victoria maintains its position as the nation’s premier course, celebrated for its strategic design and rich history. Close contenders include Kingston Heath Golf Club, also in Victoria, renowned for its immaculate fairways and challenging layout. Tasmania’s Barnbougle Dunes offers a true links experience, drawing inspiration from traditional Scottish courses, while Cape Wickham Golf Links on King Island impresses with its dramatic coastal vistas and innovative design.

Across the Tasman, New Zealand’s golf scene is equally impressive. Tara Iti Golf Club, located on the North Island, is lauded for its seamless integration with the natural landscape and meticulous course architecture. The newly established Te Arai Links (South Course) has quickly garnered acclaim, offering golfers a blend of challenging play and breathtaking ocean views. Other notable courses include Cape Kidnappers, perched atop rugged cliffs with panoramic sea views, and Kauri Cliffs, which combines lush fairways with stunning coastal scenery.

The Australia/New Zealand Regions have 11 in the Top 100, which is a great feat at 11% of the list.

What do you think of these rankings? How many have you played?
