Swing Factory Secures Lease to Build Flagship Golf and Entertainment Precinct in Sydney

POSTED ON July 22, 2026 @ 5:02 pm

SYDNEY – Swing Factory has secured a long-term lease from Bayside Council to redevelop the Barton Park Driving Range into Swing Factory Sydney, a new golf entertainment and recreation destination.

Located in Arncliffe as a cornerstone of Bayside Council’s $32 million Riverine Park Masterplan, the site is planned to serve as Swing Factory’s flagship location within its expanding national network. Pending final approvals, the venue is scheduled to open in late 2028.

Proposed Venue Features and Amenities

Designed as an integrated sports and leisure precinct, the proposed Swing Factory Sydney development will include:

  • 56 Driving Range Bays: Built across two levels, featuring integrated Toptracer Range technology and adjoining lounge areas.
  • Racquet Sports Facilities: Four pickleball courts and two padel courts.
  • Mini Golf: An architecturally designed 18-hole mini golf course.
  • Hospitality & Event Spaces: A modern clubhouse with food and beverage offerings, outdoor dining terraces, cabanas, and flexible indoor/outdoor event spaces for corporate functions, private celebrations, and children’s parties.

Company Expansion Strategy

Swing Factory Sydney marks the company’s sixth venue nationally. Swing Factory currently operates venues at Terrey Hills in New South Wales and Morack in Victoria. Construction is underway at Maitland (NSW), with development works scheduled to begin at Moreton Bay (Queensland) and the Illawarra (NSW) project progressing through the development approval process.

The company’s broader business model combines golf technology, driving ranges, minigolf, racquet sports, and hospitality to expand off-course golf participation across Australia.

Executive and Leadership Statements

Swing Factory Chief Executive Officer Erich Weber highlighted the strategic and personal significance of securing the site within the Riverine Park project.

“Swing Factory Sydney will become our flagship venue within a growing network of Swing Factory venues across Australia. It brings together world-class golf technology, premium hospitality, family entertainment and community recreation into one destination that people will want to visit time and time again,” Weber said.

“I grew up in southern Sydney, just a few minutes’ drive from the Riverine Park site, and spent countless hours playing junior golf at Botany Golf Club, where I first fell in love with the game. To now have the opportunity to help deliver a facility of this calibre back into the community that shaped my golfing journey is incredibly rewarding,” he added.

“Our vision is to create a venue that appeals to everyone, from serious golfers looking to improve their game through Toptracer technology, through to families, social groups, corporate events and people simply looking for a great place to play, socialise and spend time together.”

Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall noted that the redevelopment updates an existing facility that has served the area for decades.

“Bayside Council is committed to providing world-class facilities that our Bayside community can enjoy for generations to come,” Mayor McDougall said. “Riverine Park is an incredible sporting and recreational hub in the heart of Bayside. The golf driving range has been in this location since the 1980s and is in need of an update. I am confident this new facility will ensure lasting benefits for golfers, recreational park users, families and the wider community to enjoy.”
