Webb Appointed General Manager of Royal Hobart Golf Club

HOBART, AUSTRALIA – The Board of Royal Hobart Golf Club has officially announced the appointment of Simon Webb as the club’s new General Manager, effective August 17, 2026. Webb steps into the role following an extensive executive search process to lead the prestigious private club into its next phase of operational success.

Experienced Leadership in Private Club Operations

Webb brings over 25 years of experience across senior executive and governance positions in golf, sports, recreation, tourism, and community organizations, both in Australia and internationally. His recent tenure includes positions at Sorrento Golf Club and Sandhurst Golf Club.

Most recently, Webb twice served as interim CEO of the Sandhurst Club & Group of Entities—a large integrated golf, hospitality, recreation, and residential precinct featuring two championship golf courses, extensive sporting and hospitality facilities, and approximately 1,350 homes. In that capacity, his responsibilities spanned governance, finance, hospitality, golf operations, infrastructure, human resources, compliance, stakeholder management, and organizational transition.

Announcing the decision to members, the Board highlighted Webb’s operational track record and understanding of member-centric environments:
