Golf Industry Central celebrates 7-year anniversary

POSTED ON July 15, 2015 @ 10:33 am

It has been seven years since Golf Industry Central went online providing industry news, jobs and operational advice throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Our goal has always been to help keep you informed on what’s happening in our diverse industry and to generate and share ideas from the global golf industry.

We have structured our services to assist in four key areas of the industry – Operations, Marketing, Recruitment, and Grow the Game – each with their own dedicated websites.

Thank you for your continued support by visiting our sites, contributing stories and connecting our industry. A special thanks to our Affiliates and Business Partners for supporting us with information to use on our site and our online magazine, Golf Industry Central. Also a big thank you to our support team (Andrew, Paul, Mathilda, Joel, and Josh), working behind the scenes to grow our business and provide the skills needed to exceed client expectations.

Also, without support from our clients none of this could actually happen – THANK YOU. Your individual encouragement has made this journey so much more enjoyable. Part of our original plan was to seek and relay as much industry relevant and generally interesting stories (that you don’t always read locally) and to get it to you as quickly as possible. That is why many of our stories are linked backed to the original content. We would need several staff to rewrite everything we find, so we would rather give you a larger selection of stories to choose from.

We will be launching more initiatives to improve on our current provision of content in the near future.

How we can help you

The idea for Golf Industry Central stemmed from 18 years of working with two of the biggest golf course management companies in the world – American Golf Corporation and Clubcorp. There was a free-flowing “Intranet” used in these organisations that allowed sharing of best operational practices and general information throughout the company.

Golf Industry Central specialises in golf operations and marketing and we have a huge library of information at our disposal you can access, either free via our site, or for a fee through our consultancy services.

We are here to help golfing facilities and businesses improve their operations and become viable entities to serve their respective markets. Consultants generally can be very expensive to hire, since you may have to pay for travel as well as their time to advise. In an effort to reduce overhead costs, we conduct much of this work for you via phone and email or in a “team support” arrangement, to meet any budget.

Over the past seven years, I have met and worked with so many great people because of this little “idea” I had which became Golf Industry Central. There is still a way to go before achieving this vision implanted in my head, but half the fun is in the journey. Vision, passion and drive are what keep me going.

Building mutually rewarding relationships with like-minded people and companies is at the heart of our success. Relationships take time to build and we appreciate the friendships we have made.

I am very passionate about the golf industry and golf in general, though I don’t play as much of late. I fall into the demographic that has dropped away from the game due to a focus on business commitments and being active with a young family. Golf has changed my life. It has given me purpose, direction and brought me to Australia where I met my wife and started a family.

Golf Industry Central hopefully can help you with a unique perspective to grow your business.

Best wishes for the remainder of 2015, hopefully it has already been fruitful.

We have more new initiatives underway. Just watch this space 😉
