To all the golf course superintendents, green keepers and crews, thank you

POSTED ON April 25, 2020 @ 11:04 am

No matter the difficulty of tough times or how busy we may be, a simple “THANK YOU” should never be overlooked.

Of course, the real heroes at the moment have been all the front line healthcare and essential service workers, that assist us all with some semblance of normality and keep us as safe as possible. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

But for so many of us in the golf industry, our livelihood and own little world, where the golf facilities have been shut for the past several weeks, there has been a team of people out maintaining the golf facilities’ most valuable asset- the golf course. (And running the pro shops to allow players out in some regions)

The following video from John Deere is such a great piece of powerful messaging, Well done for creating for all of us to share with our maintenance crews and other team members that have kept things running as best they can under very trying times.

“Even during these challenging times, golf course maintenance crews all over the world are still maintaining golf courses. John Deere salutes the men and women who are making sure the game of golf will be ready when the time is right again.
The game? It’s unique. It’s not played in an arena but on hundreds of natural rolling acres. And every day, you’re out there making sure that this always growing surface is at its best, even now in these challenging times. You’re still maintaining this great game. Getting ready for the day when we can all play again.”
So, THANK YOU from the club/ course managers, teaching professionals and staff, the Tour players and especially the 60 million amateur golfers all over the world, because we know that every course is built once, but it’s maintained forever.
To all the golf course superintendents, greenkeepers and crews all over the world, thank you.
Please share and tag the message to your course crew.  #thankyou #golfindustry #JohnDeere
