JOB: Financial Controller – The Metropolitan Golf Club (Victoria)

The Metropolitan Golf Club is one of Australia’s premier golf clubs.
Established in 1901, and located on Melbourne’s famed Sandbelt, the Club has a proud and long history. It provides exceptional golf and social experiences to its members and guests; has a golf course widely recognised as one of the finest championship golf courses in Australia; and has hosted numerous local and international major golf events. Future capital projects will see further enhancements to the Club’s facilities and services, as it boldly embraces the future of golf for all generations of members.
We are now seeking an experienced finance manager to join Metropolitan’s high-performing senior management team. Your key responsibilities will be:
- Financial management and reporting
- KPI management and reporting
- Risk management and workplace safety
- Human resource management
To be successful with this appointment you will possess the following key performance attributes:
- Relevant qualification (CPA or CA)
- Minimum of five years working in a senior role
- High level of exposure and comfort with a variety of software systems
You will possess excellent management, financial and organisational skills with a willingness and versatility to work collaboratively with the General Manager, senior management team, Treasurer, Finance Committee and Board. Experience in a club environment, and the Northstar club management system, is advantageous. An interest in golf is desirable.
This is a long-term position, and it is expected that the successful applicant will develop an appreciation of the Club’s history, while working with a progressive and dynamic team. The Club offers a modern and stimulating environment to learn, work, and flourish. An appropriate remuneration package will be offered commensurate with the role.
