JOB: Finance Manager – Avondale Golf Club (NSW)
The role
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified candidate to join the team of one of Sydney’s leading golf clubs. We are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take control of the Club’s accounting and administrative functions.
The Finance Manager is a key member of the club’s senior management team, working with the General Manager and Board to support the execution of the financial function and the implementation of the club’s strategic plan.
The successful applicant will be familiar with and experienced in the preparation of all monthly reconciliations including BAS and other statutory returns. Preparations of monthly management accounts, budgets and annual accounts for audit, form the key aspect of the role. The ability to provide critical analysis on economic performance and KPI’s is also required of the successful candidate.
As a member based organisation, the Finance Manager will be required to engage with members with a strong focus on customer service. Previous experience in member based organisations will be advantageous but not essential. Professional qualifications such as CA/CPA will be highly regarded.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and updating of the Membership Register
- Act as the Club’s Payroll Officer
- Ensuring the timely provision of financial reports
- Attending key committee and board meetings as required
- Administering the club’s investments in line with approved strategies
- Providing department heads financial data to support KPI compliance
