New Career Move for Gold Coast GM

Paul Lierse, the current GM at the prestigious Glades Resort & Spa (home to the upcoming AGCSA Golf Championships) based in Robina, Gold Coast will be moving into a new role as of August 1st. Turfcare Solutions, a turf supplies company based on the Gold Coast is very excited about having Paul join the company and believes his wealth of agronomic knowledge will assist many turf managers in the Queensland region.

Paul began his Turf Management apprenticeship in 1981 at the Diamond Creek Bowling Club just out of Melbourne before doing a season on turf cricket wickets. In 1987 he began working under the watchful eye of well know and respected Superintendent Doug Robinson during the construction stage of Sanctuary Cove. After 4 years as Assistant Superintendent “Asia called” so he packed his bags and headed off to work in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand and China where he held down many positions such as Project Management, Golf Design, Construction and Maintenance roles.

Paul became Superintendent at The Glades in 2004 and was promoted to General Manager in 2008. He recently found that he was missing “the turf side” too much and is looking forward to his next adventure in the turf industry.

Paul is a mad one-eyed Essendon supporter, loves his Aussie Rules, a weekend game of golf and also spending time with his wife Elis and 3 children, Bernard, Victoria and Hayden. Turfcare Solutions is a distributor of the Floratine range of foliar and soil products and will be based at booth #87 at the upcoming AGCSA Trade Show.
