JOB: Regional Managers – Golf (Golf NSW) (3 roles)

A new and exciting initiative between GolfNSW and Jack Newton Junior Golf provides an opportunity for those experienced in golf administration to join a dynamic team servicing golf in NSW.

Three new positions have been created to manage and oversee the delivery of junior and adult golf services to clubs and District Golf Association in Northern NSW, the Murray River area and the Central West of NSW.

As part of the Regional Management team of 8, you will be responsible for the development of golf in the region. This includes increasing junior and adult participation programs, assistance at targeted local events, increasing school introductory programs and promotion of the range of services that GolfNSW, JNJG and Golf Australia can provide to clubs and District Golf Associations (DGA’s).

The roles require autonomous, self-motivated and passionate individuals with exceptional people skills who have an understanding of the sport of golf and are keen to develop all levels of golf. Experience in database management, Microsoft Office use and monthly reporting procedures are essential in this role.

About Golf NSW/JNJG

Golf NSW is responsible for promoting, encouraging and advancing the game of golf at all levels throughout NSW with Jack Newton Junior Golf focusing on junior development. Offices are in Arncliffe and the successful applicants will reside in the region and be required to travel periodically to Sydney.

The regions

The Murray River covers 3 DGA’s, 38 clubs and is bounded by Griffith in the north, Khancoban in the east, Albury in the south and Deniliquin in the west.

Northern NSW covers 5 DGA’s and 58 clubs and is bounded by Tweed Heads in the north, Narrabri in the west and Kempsey in the south.

The Central West covers four DGA’s, 48 clubs and is bounded by Dubbo in the north, Young in the south, Springwood in the east and Condobolin in the west.

Selection criteria – Essential

  • Knowledge of the game of golf
  • Previous management experience
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills, and ability to learn internal programs
  • Residence within the region of operation
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads
  • Outgoing and well-spoken
  • Current driver’s license

Selection criteria – Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of the structure of Golf in NSW
  • Qualified PGA member
  • Qualifications in Sports Administration, Event Management or similar.

The salary range is approximately $70k (plus super, motor vehicle and home office equipment).
