The Club
The Lakes Golf Club is one of Australia’s finest, featuring a world class golf course as a major tournament venue, having recently hosted the 2018 Australian Open won by Abraham Ancer.
The primary focus of the Club is the championship golf course, with over 20 staff on the course team, an exceptional fleet of modern machinery and equipment, and a $3,000,000 annual budget.
Our large group of talented Greenkeepers receive complimentary lunch prepared by the Executive Chef each day, are paid above award wage rates, are provided with many training and professional development opportunities, are encouraged to play on the golf course and most importantly have a fun team to work with. You work a 38 hour week which includes finishing work at 9am each Wednesday! Additional overtime on weekends and sometimes during the week is also available.
We are seeking two qualified Greenkeepers to join our team and assist with the daily maintenance of our 18 hole world class golf course. This role would suit a highly motivated individual with previous experience in a similar role.
Desirable skills include:
- Competent in all daily course maintenance duties
- Minimum Certificate 3 in Greenkeeping and Chemcert accreditation
- Understanding of chemicals and calibrations
- Ability to work flexible hours and some weekends
- Sound communication skills
- A current drivers licence
- Attention to detail
Our team are provided with a large amount of variety including:
- Safe and efficient peration of the very large fleet of equipment
- Setting up the course for play
- Pest identification and control
- Fertiliser and chemical application
- Bunker maintenance
- Irrigation system maintenance and management
Greenkeepers are encouraged to identify and report areas for improvement or problems that may be compromising the maintenance of the course in accordance with the Turf Management Plan, Environmental Policy, and Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
