Topgolf Debuts “The Sure Thing” with One Goal: Make Golf Less Hard

POSTED ON August 3, 2024 @ 10:30 am

The Sure Thing Driver will be available for customers to use exclusively at Topgolf venues.

Topgolf is aiming to make its venues even more accessible to new golfers with the unveiling of a brand new golf club, ‘The Sure Thing’, which is designed to make the game easier and more enjoyable.

The Sure Thing is available in child and adult sizes for right- and left-handers, and is available for exclusive use at Topgolf venues worldwide.

The Sure Thing has been designed in collaboration with Callaway and is officially not for sale and only available for gameplay at Topgolf venues. The unique club boasts a super-sized face to make it easier to make contact with the ball, and is fitted with a shorter shaft to make it easier to control. The loft is set at 20° (a standard driver is between 9°-12°) to ensure higher ball flight.

  • Enormous club face: A larger clubface means a better chance of making contact with the ball, resulting in less whiffs and more hits.
  • 20° loft: Real talk – all that means is the ball will fly higher after you hit it.
  • Shorter club shaft: That long, slender part of a golf club? That’s the shaft, and the shorter it is, the more control Players have.

A shorter shaft equals more control.

“The world needs more play in it and The Sure Thing offers a chance for all players to have fun at Topgolf, regardless of skill level,” said Michael Angelides, Senior Director of International Marketing at Topgolf.

“We want everyone to experience the thrill of making contact with the ball and The Sure Thing will provide Players of all abilities with that opportunity. Making golf more attractive to more people goes hand-in-hand with making the game easier, and launching The Sure Thing club with beginners in mind is our way of helping to make that happen.”

“At Topgolf, we exist to bring joy through more ways to play the game of golf, and The Sure Thing is one way we’re delivering on that purpose,” said Topgolf CEO Artie Starrs. “We want everyone to experience the thrill of hitting the ball solidly and into the air, and designing a club with new Players in mind is our way of helping to make that happen. I remember the first time I hit a solid shot into the air as a kid and we want to enable that thrill for everyone! New Players are going to love it and experienced Players will too.”
