X-Golf Group Named 2026 Franchisor of the Year Category Winner

POSTED ON June 29, 2026 @ 10:37 am

The Franchise Council of Australia has named X-Golf Group the Franchisor of the Year in the 26 to 50 units category at the 2026 National Franchise Awards. The award recognizes the company’s framework and innovation within the Australian sports entertainment sector.

Network Growth and Core Mission

X-Golf was founded by former PGA Professional Ben Styles with the foundational premise that making golf more accessible increases overall participation.

The network has expanded from a single venue concept into an operation consisting of more than 35 locations across Australia and New Zealand. This footprint is supported by 29 franchisees who manage the venues within their local communities.

Leadership Perspective

X-Golf Co-Founder and Managing Director Ben Styles stated that the award validates both the business model and its underlying purpose.

“From day one, we believed there was an opportunity to break down the traditional barriers to golf and create a more welcoming, flexible way for people to experience the game,” Styles said.

“Our franchisees have taken that vision and brought it to life in communities across Australia and New Zealand. They’ve proven that when you focus on participation, community and customer experience, commercial success follows.”

Styles added that the award “is a reflection of the people across our network who have committed to that vision and worked tirelessly to make it a reality.”

Sector Impact and Technology Integration

According to company data, more than 500,000 Australians have engaged with the sport through X-Golf’s network. The venues combine simulator technology with hospitality and entertainment options.

By utilizing indoor simulators, the model removes traditional external variables such as weather, time constraints, and varying player skill levels to establish alternative pathways into golf.
