Ben Grylewicz appointed as Course Manager Indooroopilly GC

POSTED ON July 5, 2019 @ 2:15 pm

I am delighted to announce that Ben Grylewicz has been appointed as Course Manager. Ben is 41
years old, married to wife Marty and has two girls Malia aged 12 and Mackennah 14.

Ben grew up in Albury and started his career with an apprenticeship at Howlong Golf Club. Ben then
took an opportunity to undertake a scholarship at the University of Ohio and work at a number of
highly acclaimed warm season facilities in the USA including Harbourtown Golf Links, Muirfield
Village and Pinnacle Golf Club.

After four years working in America where he met his future wife, Ben returned to Australia to
project manage the construction of the new Ballarat Golf Club working with course architects
Thomson and Perrett and then assuming the role of grow-in Superintendent. From Ballarat then to
Sydney for 10 years to lead the team at The Ridge Golf Club in the Sutherland Shire as Construction
Manager and Course Superintendent.

For the past three years Ben has been Course Superintendent at the highly prestigious Royal
Canberra Golf Club, finalising the course redevelopment program.
Ben is obviously looking forward to some warmer weather in Queensland and leading our team to
present the courses in optimal playing conditions. Ben is an avid golfer, playing regularly with club
members off a handicap of 1.

Ben commented: “I would like to thank Indooroopilly Golf Club for the tremendous opportunity that
it has presented to me and I look forward to getting my feet on the ground in the coming weeks.”
Ben’s appointment starts on 12 th August 2019 and follows a rigorous worldwide recruitment
campaign that attracted a large number of high quality applicants.

I would also like to take this opportunity to recognise the contribution of Joel Leth and the course
maintenance team in the ongoing improvement of the presentation and playing condition of the
course during the recruitment process.
