JOB: 2IC (Team Leader) – Bay Views Golf Course – GSM

Golf Services Management (GSM) are a leading management company in the industry and we are committed to providing a high level of service and quality to a growing number of golf courses.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Superintendent at Bay Views Golf Course, a course with a reputation of being an exceptionally maintained. The position offers ongoing job security with the venue under a long term lease arrangement with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

This role is a transitional role to the position of Course Superintendent. The successful applicant will initially be supported by our Director of Operations with the objective of a move into the role of a Course Superintendent once a proven performance record is established.

The ideal applicant must be prepared to follow the existing course management and labour management schedules that have consistently delivered a high standard of golf course presentation. Your experience will be supported by a sound knowledge of efficient turf agronomy, general land management and irrigation.

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Leading the team on a daily basis to achieve our Quality Plan deliverables within the agreed financial and course management plan.
• Participating in all aspects of maintaining and presenting the golf course and surrounding parkland.
• Supervising and training staff.
• Adherence to WH&S policy and procedures.
• Maintenance of course irrigation.
• Involvement in the planning of renovation and improvement programs.
• Providing input and ideas for the chemical program to achieve optimum pest and disease management as well as soil nutrition.
