JOB: Events Officer – Golf Australia (Vic)
About the Role:
The Events Officer will be primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Golf Australia events program primarily in Victoria, including all men’s, women’s, junior and senior golf events, Pennant competitions and related activities and teams.
This individual will also be involved in delivering events and activities in other states/territories, and nationally and events managed by the PGA of Australia.
They will work closely with the Victorian and National Event Managers located in Vic, other GA event staff, PGA of Australia staff, committees, volunteers and facilities to deliver the GA events program with a high level of professionalism.
Specific duties include:
- End to end event coordination including entries, draws, logistics, results, prizes, presentations and player satisfaction surveys – ensuring events are delivered to the highest standard and in line with GA and PGA delivery levels
- Delivering events within budget and completing event financial reconciliations and other required reporting
- Liaising with and coordinating volunteers
- Event marketing and promotion including up to date website information, posters, and promotion via social media, EDMs and other channels
- Adding event results into state and national Order of Merit competitions
- Publishing club events on the event calendar as requested
- Arranging travel, accommodation and uniforms for representative teams when attending events
- Assisting with the Vic Golf Industry Awards Night
- Assisting with any ad-hoc history/archival requests
- Other duties as required
Your Experience:
To be considered for this position you will need to have demonstrated experience in sport or event management. You will have a high level of initiative and ability to work independently as well as being a productive member of a team.
In addition, you will have availability to spend considerable time at tournaments/events throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate, and the ability to work non-traditional hours such as weekends and evenings.
