JOB: Golf Operations Manager – Victor Harbor GC (SA)
Located 75 kms south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula and established in 1911, the Victor Harbor Golf Club is recognised as one of South Australia’s leading regional courses.
The VHGC has made the strategic decision to take control of the golf operation of the club following a review of the previous structure. Reporting to the General Manager, it seeks the services of an experienced Golf Operations Manager to lead the club through this exciting phase of growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The day-to-day management of the golf shop, primarily providing the check in service for golfers both members and public, controlling competitions held at the club, and managing the cart fleet.
- Maintaining stock levels of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories that golfers are seeking while ensuring sales are profitable.
- Manage the provision of professional golf services at the club, for instance, lessons, group clinics and club repair
- Contributing to the annual budget and planning process and ensuring that those budgets and plans are met and achieved across the golf operations department.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of golf, handicapping and competition management
- Appropriate financial skills to understand financial reporting
- Ability to work hands on, independently and lead within a small team environment
- A proven track record of fostering a strong customer service culture.
- Ability to work and lead under pressure, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment to deliver positive outcomes
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
- A SA Government approved working with children check
- 3 years previous experience in a similar role or industry, with PGA Membership advantageous
- Current First Aid Certificate
