JOB: NZ: Golf Operations Coordinator – North Shore GC

POSTED ON April 30, 2021 @ 12:25 pm

We’re currently looking for a self-motivated and reliable individual with sound golfing knowledge to join our friendly and hard-working team in the role of Golf Operations Coordinator. If you enjoy keeping busy and making a difference, you’ll love this dynamic and varied hands-on position where you will be an integral part of the Golf Operations Hub – a role that is well and truly at the heart of our popular and thriving Golf Club!

If you have a can-do attitude, are a team player and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to help out when it’s needed, there will be professional development opportunities available through valuable cross-functional exposure.

North Shore Golf Club:
Situated in Albany on the Shore, this picturesque 27-hole golf course is a member-focused club and is one of the busiest golf courses in the country. Its popularity comes as no surprise as it boasts a covered driving range, excellent practice facilities, a modern & spacious clubhouse and a brand-new sprig bar for its 1200 very active members to enjoy. Our Golf Operations Hub is now on the lookout for a capable individual to join the team to enable the smooth running of the Club’s golf operations.

The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Golf Operations Coordinator will be responsible for a range of duties imperative to the successful running of the Club’s golf operations. This includes the organisation of competitions, being on the ground for corporate events, handling general enquiries, supporting the general running of events and tournaments, updating results and other administrative duties to name a few. The Golf Operations Coordinator will also be based in the golf pro shop for approximately 20 hours per week.

You will be a known face to all those at the Club and be a key point of contact for golf related enquiries – this means you will need to have great people and relationship building skills. The team at the Golf Operations Hub are often a ‘go-to’ for members for any enquiries or issues, so you will need to be diplomatic and possess excellent customer service skills.

There is often a lot on the go at our humming Club, so you will need to be organised with great time management skills. If something doesn’t quite go to plan, you are level-headed and calm under pressure and are able to quickly adapt using your pragmatic approach.

Given the nature of the role, this position will include some weekend work with some flexibility required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·       Organisation and administration of competitions, including collecting entry fees, making draws, printing scorecards, collating results and entering these into the system
·       Handling general or member-related enquiries, including some rules queries
·       Support the general running of events and tournaments
·       Updating results and organising prizes and trophies
·       Working in the pro shop and fulfilling the required duties, such as serving customers and opening or closing the shop as required
·       Processing green fees and card fees
·       Driving range sales
·       Starter duties as required
·       Be on the ground assisting with the successful running of corporate days
·       Course marshalling
·       Group bookings
·       Creation and distribution of the Golf Club’s newsletter

Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally have played golf before and possess (at a minimum) base-level knowledge of the game.

You don’t need to have worked in a golf-related environment before, but you have a good grasp of the different moving parts of an operation and enjoy being a hands-on driving force within a relevant business or sporting operation/facility.

You consider yourself extremely reliable – you always show up and do what you say you’re going to do!

In return, not only will you get to work at a stunning location, but you’ll be joining a great team with an engaging and supportive working environment with professional development and growth opportunities available for the right person.

Apply Now:
If you are a reliable and hard-working individual with a relevant background and skillset and want to join our fantastic Golf Operations team, then APPLY NOW and submit your application along with your CV and a cover letter!
