Australian PGA professional Duncan Moodie passes
The golfing community in Sabah and around Malaysia is mourning the loss of former national coach and Australian PGA professional Duncan Moodie, who passed away due to malaria at 12:20pm in Kota Kinabalu today.
Moodie was the founding owner and director of elite golf development at Pacific Golf Academy, based in Likas Golf Range.
Duncan first joined the PGA in 1977, had lived in South East Asia for more than 10 years and worked in countries such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. He had spent the past five years in Malaysia where he was the Director of Elite Development at Pacific Golf Academy based at the Likas Golf Club.
Having previously worked with the Malaysian Ladies Golf Association (MALGA) as National Team and Junior Development Coach Duncan also coached the Malaysian National Team who in 2009 won two bronze medals in the South East Asia Games.
He also coached, Kelly Tan, Malaysia’s number one female golfer.
