Returning to the workplace after COVID-19: What boards should be thinking about.

POSTED ON May 9, 2020 @ 10:35 am

Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) has released a document, “Returning to the workplace after COVID-19: What boards should be thinking about.”

To keep operations going while minimising the risk to employees, most companies have adopted new ways of working that have left their offices, stores, and other facilities relatively empty. It will now be up to management teams and Boards to determine how and when to start the complex task of returning to the workplace once government restrictions are lifted.

The PWC article reports:

“The health and safety of the workforce will be management’s top priority as it considers how to bring operations back to some semblance of normal.”

“Employees are counting on their companies to help them get back to work safely.”

“Management teams will need to understand and ensure compliance with federal, state and local orders as restrictions are eased. Executives should plan for a range of scenarios based on where mission-critical work takes place.”

“Once it’s possible to reopen, management teams will face the challenge of keeping them safe.”

ONE CONTRACTOR COULD BRING ALL YOUR GOOD WORK UNDONE!
One item the article doesn’t specifically address is your Contractors. As you begin the process to return to work and full operations, bear in mind that all your good work could be undone by one contractor who does not have hygiene protocols in place or does not understand or follow yours. We’re working on that right now and an epar COVID-19 Contractor Pack is currently in draft form.

For those epar customers using the Contractors app, you will also receive an auto-notification via email every time a contractor crosses the geofence into your property. If that contractor hasn’t signed off on your protocols or does not have their own, the app will advise you they are not competent and should not be on site.

Stay safe, stay separated, but stay connected.

The PWC document is a great read and we are pleased to provide you a link to the full article.
