Qualified Greenkeeper – Maroochy River GC (QLD)
Located in Bli Bli, just a few minutes from Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, Maroochy River Golf Club is home to a stunning new 18 hole championship course. Designed by renowned golf course architect and Australian golfing legend Graham Marsh, the course opened in June 2015 and enjoys spectacular views towards Mt Coolum.
The club itself has a rich history and was born in 1950 as the Horton Park Golf Club in Maroochydore, Queensland. The relocation of Horton Park Golf Club was brought about by the spectacular growth of the Sunshine Coast and to make way for the establishment of Maroochydore’s new CBD.
Maroochy River Golf Club has hosted numerous state events and national tournaments and in 2019 the course made its debut at #65 in Australia’s Top 100 Public Access Courses. This was followed in 2020 being named at #76 for the first time in Australia’s Top 100 Golf Courses.
A new, fun addition to the club is a Mini Golf Course which opened in November 2019. The club continues to grow and now have a vision of establishing a floodlit 18 hole short course in the near future.
The club requires the services of an Experienced Greenkeeper to work with our team in maintaining the immaculate appearance of one of Queensland’s leading golf courses.
The successful applicant will be a team player, enthusiastic, motivated, and possess a strong work ethic.
Experience and Requirements
- Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management or higher
- Excellent attention for detail
- Experience in all aspects of Golf Course maintenance
- Competent with a wide range of turf machinery
- Be hardworking and physically fit for manual work
- Have a general understanding of the game of Golf
- Understand WH&S and Environmental requirements for a Golf Course
- Sound communication skills
- Hold a current Australian drivers licence
- Construction experience will be advantageous although not essential
The position will be full-time with some rostered work required on weekends and public holidays.
