Duntryleague is one of Australia’s great golf courses.
The championship course is a premier golfing destination with its’ glorious setting of trees and shrubs, which were established in 1936. Members and guest alike now enjoy this vision with a manicured course unsurpassed for beauty and history, rivalling any other golf course in Australia.
The par 70 course from the Blue markers and par 72 from the Red, stretches 6008 metres and 5281 metres respectively. Lush South African couch and undulating tree-lined fairways, bent grass greens and a thoughtful strategic layout requiring accuracy off the tee, make this course a pleasure to experience.
Situated in the heart of the very popular regional city of Orange in Central West New South Wales.
Orange’s economy is diversified across a number of industries including Healthcare, Education, Mining and Manufacturing.
“Duntryleague” is taking its maintenance and greenkeeping back in-house and is seeking staff in a number of positions.
Course Superintendent
“Duntryleague” is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent, who is hands on and hard working. The strong leader must be passionate, dedicated, capable of motivating and managing the team to present the best possible turf surfaces.
The Superintendent must have strong leadership skills with a professional and approachable attitude, have industry qualifications and display a committed and disciplined approach in all areas of the role.
Ideally the successful candidate will also possess a strong vision for the future development of the course through planning and strategy.
To be successful in this role the candidate should possess the following attributes
- Experience in leading and managing staff.
- Strong leadership ability. Leading by example.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Proven ability and knowledge of the use and maintenance of turf machinery, with a good understanding of machinery repair.
- Irrigation maintenance and installation experience.
- Experience in the application of chemicals and fertilizers with an accredited ACUP Chemical Licence.
- Understanding of OH&S compliance and requirements – along with First Aid
- Ability to communicate & manage effective Daily, Monthly and Annual Work programs, working with the Secretary Manager and Golf Management Committee on a regular basis.
- Have a strong attention to detail.
- Manage Finances and Operate within a Budget.
- Maintain records relating to course maintenance, machinery, chemical applications.
- Minimum Certificate 3, in Sportsturf Management is required.
- The ability to interview appropriate staff and hire them.
A salaried, remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The position is on a full-time basis and there is a requirement for rostered weekend and overtime work throughout the year. The position is available for immediate start.
