The Boonah Golf Club is searching for a motivated and passionate person with experience and qualifications in turf maintenance to join our team. Founded in 1928, the Boonah Golf Club is located 86 km south-west of Brisbane, 70 kms west of the Gold Coast, positioned in the heart of Queensland’s spectacular Scenic Rim. The Boonah Township is surrounded by six world class national parks and sits as the Lonely Planet’s Top 10 Travel Destinations.

Boonah also provides an exceptional family and educational environment supported by amazing cafes, accommodation, and sporting facilities. Over the next 2 years, the Boonah Golf Club will be undergoing some exciting changes which will position the club as the No.1 Golfing and Tourism Destination in the region.

The Boonah Golf Course is set up as an 18-hole golf course featuring 9 greens supported by a driving range and practice facilities. This exciting role is ideal for a hand-on course professional who is seeking to develop a career and work as part of a new leadership team. The position will include rostered weekend work based on the golfing calendar, course maintenance schedules and seasonal influences.

Qualifications & Expectations

Qualifications in Turf Management preferably with experience in the maintenance of a golf course

Hold a Qld Driver’s License and relevant chemical handling licenses

Operations

Ability to work with budgets and oversee the ordering and management of products

Competent with the operation and care of turf machinery

Demonstrated experience with preparing and the application of chemical and fertilize

Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate course and green renovation schedules

Reasonable mechanical skills with the ability to apply mechanical adjustments and facilitate repairs on machinery and course irrigation assets as required

Communication & People Management

Demonstrated ability to communicate across a diverse business including a loyal team of volunteer workers

Demonstrated written and interpersonal communication.

 Systems & IT

Working knowledge of computer software (Word, Outlook Emails, Excel)

 Safety

Demonstrate a sound understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements.

Current certifications relation to chemical handling

Provide Covid19 Vaccination evidence in keeping with the Queensland Government Health Directive.
