JOB: Pro Shop Operations Manager – Pinjarra Golf Club (cir $85k package)
Pinjarra Golf Club is a country club with an exceptional 18-hole golf course located in the Peel district of Western Australia. The course is highly rated with the greens consistently considered amongst the best in Australia. The Club has a total membership in excess of 500, with 400 active players. The course is open to visitors and receives over 10,000 green fee players per year.
We are seeking an experienced PGA Professional or a non-qualified, experienced Golf Operations Manager who is an enthusiastic sales and marketing specialist, with excellent customer service skills to manage the Pro Shop Operations. Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities will include management of the day-to-day operations of our Pro Shop, including food & beverage, the practice range, the motorised golf fleet of 26 carts, collecting green and member competition fees and managing all club competition events.
You need to have a strong work ethic, work well within a team environment, be focused on providing exceptional customer service, be committed to ongoing improvement and have excellent communication skills.
Mandatory Criteria
- Be a certified PGA Professional with a minimum of 3+ years golf operations experience or a non-qualified experienced Golf Shop Operations Manager who has extensive golf knowledge with a minimum of three years’ experience in golf operations, retail golf management and store presentation.
- Ability to maintain and manage golf time-sheets for members and guests or the ability to quickly become proficient with training
- Excellent customer service skills
- Sound management skills with business and financial competence
- Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification
- A current National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old)
Desirable
- Knowledge of the MiClub System or the ability to quickly become proficient with training.
- Knowledge and experience with Point of Sale Systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to supervise staff and prepare staffing rosters
- Knowledge of Social Media marketing is desirable and personal development training will be made available if required
- A current First Aid Certificate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Will include but not limited to;
- Presenting and operating a clean tidy and appropriately stocked Golf Pro Shop
- Providing excellent customer service including timely club repair.
- Ensuring that the Golf Shop retail operations are maintained to a profitable standard.
- Being fully accountable for golf operations including member golf, tee times, social bookings, public visitors, tournaments and corporate events, as per the annual business plan and calendar of events
- Managing Golf Shop staff, including maintaining a staff roster to ensure coverage for 12 hours daily, 7 days per week operation
- Engaging with Members and guests ensuring the Club is meeting expectations of service and product delivery.
- Liaising with contracted golf professionals regarding provision of member coaching, clinics and junior development programs
- Working closely with the General Manager and the Board to develop and implement an annual business development strategy for the Club, which includes recruiting new members and retaining existing members.
- Developing strategies to maximise player yields for both competition and green fee players and cart usage.
- Marketing and management of Corporate Golf Days
