JOB: General Manager – Murrumbidgee Country Club
Murrumbidgee Country Club is a private golf club located in Kambah, ACT. The Club is supported by around 1000 members as well as members of the public. The club has an annual turnover in excess of $2 million pa and employs around 15 staff.
The Club is seeking the services of an Enthusiastic, Driven and Proactive General Manager who will be responsible for ensuring all club operations are delivered to the highest standard.
Responsibilities include:
- Administration of the club including financial and regulatory obligations
- Operation of the 7-day-a-week licensed venue providing dining, beverage and gaming facilities to members and guests
- Member Services and support
- Club promotion including sponsorship and functions
- Leadership and direction of club employees
- Board support and secretariat
- Management of contracts with key providers including the club golf professional and caterer
- Golf course maintenance and improvement
- Support of the Golfing operations.
Key Attributes
- Experience in managing all aspects of licensed club operations, ideally with some golf club experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships with members, sponsors and other stakeholders
- A “hands-on approach”, with a willingness to lead and participate in all aspects of club operations, including outside of standard business hours
- Experience in the leadership and direction of staff
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with particular attention to detail
