JOB: Digital Media & Communications Officer – Golf NSW/Jack Newton Junior Golf
Job Profile
Golf NSW and Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) are looking to employ an enthusiastic recent media & comms graduate or relevant industry trainee for the new role of Digital Media & Communications Officer.
The Digital Media & Communications Officer will assist the Media and Digital Manager of Golf NSW with daily coverage of the sport at all levels across the State; from introductory initiatives for all ages and abilities to coverage of the organisation’s major events and championships.
Job Description
You will be responsible for assisting with and producing content for the organisations digital media platforms, including publishing to web, social media, and when required, assistance with external media needs at major events & championships.
Attendance at tournaments across the state as part of the Golf NSW/ JNJG event team will be required. This includes weekend work and the ability to work at some events autonomously.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce digital media content in line with the organisational goals of Golf NSW & JNJG
- Create content such as web posts, blogs, infographics, photography & video at events.
- Work corroboratively with Golf NSW event staff, Marketing, and Administration on communication needs as required daily, and during events and championships.
- Assist with the monitoring of Golf NSW/JNJG social media channels.
- Monitor and track insights of partner organisations, including Golf Australia and the PGA/WPGA.
- Stay up-to-date with new media technologies and the latest trends within the sport, both nationally and across the globe.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification in media, communications or journalism, a media traineeship, or exhibited prior experience in a journalism/digital communications role.
- Photo and video skills.
- Knowledge of Adobe products including Photoshop, Final Cut Pro/Premiere Pro, and other media editing software.
- An understanding of web publishing and experience with the WordPress CMS
Golf NSW is administered from a network of offices across the metropolitan area, with its head office based at Brighton Le Sands. Other offices are located at Dunheved Golf Club, near St Marys, and Wollongong Golf Club.
JNJG administration is based at Strathfield Golf Club, and the successful candidate would be expected to work from any of the offices when required.
