JOB: Teaching Professional/Pro-Shop Attendant – Pinjarra Golf Club (cir $100k)
About
Pinjarra Golf Club is a country club with an exceptional 18-hole golf course located in the Peel district of Western Australia. The course is considered as an outstanding golf experience for golfers at all levels. The Club has a total membership in excess of 500, with 400 active players. The course is open to visitors and receives over 10,000 green fee players per year.
We are seeking an experienced PGA Professional to provide golf tuition to members and the public and to complete hours in the Pro-Shop as a Pro-Shop Attendant.
The role comprises two areas:
- Outside the rostered shop hours, the PGA Professional will have exclusive rights to the practice range facilities to arrange and provide golf tuition to members and public. You are expected to work autonomously and drive business, in conjunction with the Golf Operations Manager through but not limited to –
- Golf lessons and Group golf clinics to members and green fee players
- Weekly golf clinics to juniors as part of The Junior Development Program
- Golf clinics for the Clubs pennant teams
- Regular golf clinics for the local High Schools
- Specialised group golf clinics focusing on female golfers, seniors and other diverse groups • The scheduling of regular golf demo days with golf equipment suppliers with liaison with the Golf Operations Manager.
- Pro-Shop Attendant, responsible to the Golf Operations Manager for a minimum of 12 hours per week, comprising of rostered shifts, preferably on Member Competition days, on a rotating day basis per week, with weekend work expected. These hours may increase during large tournaments or in consultation with the Golf Operations Manager when required. Areas of responsibilities will encompass:
Day to day operations of the Pro-Shop, including
- Food and beverage sales
- Managing and clearing of the practice range
- Management of the motorised golf cart fleet, including cleaning
- Customer service of golf fees for members and public
- Merchandise sales
- Assisting with the management of club competition events utilizing the golf booking software package
- Complete a club repair service for members and green fee players
Mandatory Criteria
- Be a certified PGA Professional or Trainee eligible to coach.
- Ability to maintain and manage golf time-sheets for members and guests or the ability to quickly become proficient with training
- Work well within team environment with a strong work ethic
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
- To obtain Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification
- To obtain a current National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old)
- To obtain a current Working With Children Check
Desirable
- Knowledge of the MiClub System or the ability to quickly become proficient with training. • Knowledge and experience with Point of Sale Systems.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
Remuneration and Conditions
- All golf lessons and clinics will be in the PGA Professional’s own time and booked and paid in advance by members and visitors through the Pro-Shop’s Tuition Booking System
- Rates for the lessons and clinics to be set by the PGA Professional, with 100% of fees retained by the PGA Professional
- Hours of work for the Pro-Shop Attendant role will be remunerated in accordance with the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award. Pro-Shop Attendant hours of work will be variable and will include weekends and public holidays, with a minimum of 12 hours per week. More hours are available on negotiation.

Based on the current demand for tuition and 20 hrs per week in pro shop hours, it is expected the total remuneration will exceed $100k p/a.
