JOB: Golf Retail Manager – Muirfield Golf Club

Muirfield Golf Club is a traditional Members golf club, nestled in the Hills District of Sydney, at North Rocks.  Known as one of Sydney’s friendliest golf clubs, Muirfield is not only an active golfing hub for the 1,000 strong playing membership, but also for the surrounding community.

Muirfield Golf Club is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic golf retail and customer service professional to help plan, manage and develop professional shop services.  The Club is about to embark on an exciting development journey, which will see Muirfield transformed into a destination golf and community Club.

The successful candidate will manage the retail business of the golf shop and be instrumental in providing the best golf shop customer service experience for Members and visitors to the Club.  Assisting with the golf operations of the Club on a daily basis, will make up the rest of your time on duty.

The Golf Retail Manager reports to the Director of Golf, and whilst having a retail and customer service background, they will also possess the following key qualities:

• Experience in managing and leading front-line employees to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Strong retail knowledge, with an understanding of the game of golf.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task and problem solve to reach daily targets.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a flair for golf shop merchandising and marketing.
• Personable attitude and a desire to work within a professional team.
• Flexibility, with the ability to work on the weekend.
• Experience with mainstream golf management/timesheet management programs including MiClub, would be advantageous.
• PGA qualification is viewed favourably but is not essential
