JOB: Assistant Golf Professional – Muirfield Golf Club

Muirfield Golf Club is a traditional Members golf club, nestled in the Hills District of Sydney, at North Rocks. Known as one of Sydney’s friendliest golf clubs, Muirfield is not only an active golfing hub for the 1,000 strong playing membership, but also for the surrounding community.
Muirfield Golf Club is looking for a motivated Assistant Golf Professional to assist with delivering exceptional service to the club members and visitors. The Club is about to embark on an exciting development journey, which will see Muirfield transformed into a destination golf and community Club.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping to guide the Clubs’ golf operations through the development stages and then into the new era of Muirfield.
Reporting to the Director of Golf, the Assistant Golf Professional will fulfil the following qualities:
Essential Qualities
- Ability to lead the Golf Shop team, in the absence of the Director of Golf.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to work as part of a team.
- Service Orientated to help Members and visitors with everything that is golf.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends.
- Well presented with good computer and communication skills.
- Ability to efficiently run member competitions, social groups, and Club events.
- Ability to assist members and guests with the rules of golf, product, and equipment advice.
- A Teacher – provide member golf and representative team tuition, as needed.
- A positive and friendly attitude, including initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment
- Knowledge of the MiClub and Australian handicapping systems will be advantageous.
- Organisational skills to assist with the management of the club golf cart fleet.
- PGA accredited. Additional certifications would be advantageous.
Experience
We are seeking applicants with experience in a similar role or someone who competently completed their traineeship, wishing to move on to the next level in their career.
Experience in providing the Director of Golf with input into retail, coaching, and marketing decision making will be a benefit.
The successful applicant will be required to work approximately 38 hours with the remuneration package + benefits to be discussed upon application.
