The Grange reflects a picturesque modern country club, and our 18-hole championship golf course is managed by Troon, the world’s largest Golf Management Company.
About the role
“The Grange” Golf Course Superintendent is entrusted with the development and management of our golf course with the following responsibilities.
- Supervise the maintenance of the golf course.
- Assist with recruitment and training of appropriate staff.
- Supervise the servicing and repair of turfgrass maintenance and construction equipment.
- Keep appropriate records pertaining to maintenance, WHS and Environmental compliance.
- Prepare budgets and regular reports.
Specific Duties of this role include
- Plans, organises and directs the daily maintenance of the golf course inclusive of all playing surfaces, bunkers, landscapes and on course accessories as per the set Troon Agronomy Standards.
- Supervises the planning, agronomic and cultural practices involved in growing various turfgrasses, tees and ornamental plants.
- Supervises the efficient operation of equipment servicing, its scheduling and repair shop.
- Supervises the efficient operation of the pump and irrigation system including irrigation application and scheduling.
- Procures equipment, supplies and materials within budgetary limitations utilising Troon vendor agreements.
- Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs – prepares and presents the annual golf course maintenance budget in conjunction with the Director of Agronomy.
- Builds and implements a conforming WHS system.
- Builds and implements a conforming EMS system.

Scott has over 20 years’ of experience in managing upscale golf operations internationally. Scott has worked for Troon in Abu Dhabi, Morocco and Azores managing internationally recognised golf courses including Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

Skills and experience
- Have a sound knowledge of golf course construction and grow in practices.
- Have a sound knowledge of agronomy with a minimum of Diploma level education and a sound knowledge of Troon Golf’s Agronomic Standards.
- Have a working knowledge of specific duties for all golf course employees including laws governing such.
- Have a current license as a pesticide applicator.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understand state and national governance pertaining to all WHS and Environmental compliances.

***Full vaccination against Covid-19 is a requirement of the role
The applicable remuneration for this position will be in accordance with the Dapto Leagues Club Enterprise Agreement and will be based on experience and qualifications.
The remuneration package will also include a company vehicle and mobile phone.
