JOB: Teaching Professional – The Royal Melbourne GC
ABOUT:
The Royal Melbourne Golf Club is Australia’s premier course, situated in Black Rock Victoria with two world-ranked courses, a full practice fairway and short game areas, and a two-bay state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor teaching facility fully equipped with trackman and high-speed video cameras.
THE ROLE:
The Royal Melbourne Golf Club Professional Team is looking to engage an experienced full-time Teaching Professional. The role is ideally suited to a PGA Professional who will be responsible to work closely with Royal Melbourne’s Head Golf Professional to provide a coaching platform for youth, male and female Members and Visitors of all ages and abilities, to a standard that reflects Royal Melbourne’s world standing in golf.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be required to work with the Head Professional in the following areas:
- Provide Professional tuition to Members and Visitors on a daily basis
- Develop and administer member and visitor coaching engagement programmes
- Develop and administer The Royal Melbourne Junior Development Programme
- Responsible for coaching knowledge development for all Royal Melbourne coaches
- Responsible for maintenance of teaching facility and technology
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:
The successful applicant will:
- Have strong knowledge of Trackman usage
- Attend staff meetings and club events as required
- Be self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team
- Be able to work flexible hours and required times including weekends
- Have the ability to interact with a diverse group of people
- Have outstanding people and service skills
- Have excellent presentation attributes
- Have strong communication skills
- Have a high level of computer literacy
- Have the capacity to perform the requirements of the role with a minimum level of supervision
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified PGA Professionals – Advanced in Coaching
- Current Working with Children check
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 4 years of full-time coaching
- Currently coaching at a facility in a full-time coaching position
REMUNERATION:
- Coaching services will be provided as an independent contractor
- Payment for services will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
