JOB: Director of Golf – Newcastle Golf Club

Our predominantly member-based Club is profitable, experiencing growth and continues to operate in accordance with the Club’s Strategic Plan.
We strive to provide a professionally run and enjoyable environment for our 1000 members upon each visit and oversee 40,000 to 45,000 rounds of golf per year.
About the role:
This is an exciting role to take charge and further develop our golf operations department through our continued period of growth. Working autonomously or within our leadership team, the key responsibilities will be –
- Leading and developing the golf operations team.
- Maintain a profitable and customer focused retail space.
- Ensure handicapping and daily results are correct and submitted.
- Manage a full calendar of golf events, ranging from daily member competitions to National events.
- Continuously raise the bar for customer experience and service.
- Oversee the Clubs driving range operation and fleet of 42 golf carts.
- Assist in developing all aspects of the Club’s golf business with a focus on exceeding member and guest expectations and increasing visitor yield.
- Develop policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current and compliant.
This role reports directly to the General Manager.
About You:
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- PGA qualification
- Experience working in a private golf club that’s focused on golf operations.
- A friendly and approachable manner that will instill confidence in those around them.
- The ability to lead a team and ensure positive outcomes.
- A sound knowledge of retailing, administrative planning, IT, and golf software (MiClub).
- An understanding of core golf club operations and key golf related business drivers.
