JOB: Assistant PGA Professional – Nudgee Golf Club
About
Due to the increase in golf popularity, Nudgee Golf Club is growing its team and is seeking to appoint a PGA Professional to provide service to their 1800 Members and the thousands of visitors who play the course each year. Nudgee is located 20 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD and is easily accessible from the Gateway Motorway. The Golf Club has recently completed an exciting redevelopment, with a new 36-hole course including a driving range, chipping green, and putting green completed in November 2022. Since this time Nudgee has seen an increase in rounds played, now averaging approximately 2800 rounds per week.
The role
The successful applicant for this position must be experienced in Golf Operations and the use of MiClub Software for timesheet and competition management. The applicant must be well presented, display excellent communication skills, be honest and reliable, organised, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and have the willingness to learn.
The following operations will form part of the responsibilities of the successful applicant:
- The collection of Green Fees, Cart Hire Fees, Beverage revenue
- Golf Shop Revenue – including merchandise & hardware sales and fitting days
- Administration of club competitions – including assisting with rules questions
- Starting and coordinating competition fields
- Assisting with the delivery of Corporate/Social Club events
- Assist in the promotion of the club and its facilities
Minimum Opening Hours:
7 days a week from 5.30am to 6pm (closed Christmas Day). The position will be full-time based on 38 hours per week, plus any reasonable additional hours that are necessary to fulfill your duties or as otherwise required by the employer, and will include weekend and public holiday shifts.
For the right applicant, willing to discuss less shop hours and more coaching.
Position Remuneration/Entitlements:
- Salary in line with the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award will be paid to the successful candidate.
- Ability to coach outside rostered hours for a PGA Professional (80:20 split)
- If the successful applicant were to give on average 10 lessons per week for 45 weeks of the year, this would be a $100,000+ role.
