JOB: Manager – Tournaments Golf NSW
Duration: Three-year contract.
Reports to: General Manager – Golf.
Golf NSW is the peak representative body for the sport in New South Wales.
Our role is to encourage participation, fellowship, fair play, and the well-being of our member clubs and districts. Managing fields as diverse as the Rules of Golf, Amateur Status, course ratings, handicapping, high performance, development, participation, and competitions, including inter-club, district, interstate tournaments, Men’s, Women’s State Amateur, and Open Championships.
Today Golf NSW boasts being the largest golf organisation in Australia, with 384 affiliated Clubs and in excess of 160,000 registered members.

The role of the Manager – Tournaments will be to organise and oversee eighteen professional tournaments (outlined below) that are sanctioned by the PGA and WPGA. These tournaments will be administered with varying formats and prize purses. All tournaments will be broadcast at some level, depending on the funding allocation for the tournament.
Key Responsibilities
- Golf NSW professional events include:
- Men’s NSW Open
- Women’s NSW Open
- Senior NSW Open
- Australian Women’s Classic
- Men’s NSW Regional Open Series (comprises 6 tournaments)
- Women’s NSW Regional Open Series (comprises 6 tournaments)
- Men’s World Sand Greens Championship
- Women’s World Sand Greens Championship
- Responsible for the following aspects of all Golf NSW professional events:
- Scheduling of tournaments with PGA and WPGA.
- Assisting PGA / WPGA with course set up and local rules.
- Taking amateur entries for all tournaments.
- Liaising with the broadcast production team to ensure requirements are met.
- Club liaison regarding hosting requirements.
- Liaising with the Golf NSW marketing, media, and government relations teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Liaising with government departments to ensure funding KPIs are met.
Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of golf tournaments and the golf industry.
- Sound Microsoft office skills.
- Knowledge of tournament management software.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads.
- Excellent people, communication, organisational and time management skills.
Requirements
- Ability to work across various days including weekdays and weekend where required.
- Ability to travel intrastate, with all travel expenses at the cost of Golf NSW.
- Current & Cleared Working with Children Check (WWC) (NSW).
- Current Driver’s Licence.
