Minnippi Golf & Range announce the grand opening of Cooee Cafe and Restaurant

POSTED ON February 1, 2024 @ 7:45 am

Minnippi Golf & Range is excited to announce the grand opening of Cooee Cafe and Restaurant, the latest addition to Brisbane’s thriving hospitality scene.

Situated at the picturesque Minnippi Golf & Range, Cooee is more than a cafe and restaurant – it is a premium food and beverage destination that welcomes all visitors, not just golfers.

Opening on Friday, 16 Feb 2024, Cooee boasts indoor dining and outdoor picnic benches with seating for up to 200 people, providing a perfect setting for family celebrations, catch-ups with friends, after-work drinks, as well as a traditional “19th hole” experience.

Head chef Lenes Pawar (Corbett & Claude, Cannon Hill Tavern) has created an extensive menu of crowd-pleasing dishes all designed to bring people together.

From such smaller snacks as mushroom arancini, prawn sliders or crisp chicken wings served with a blue cheese dipping sauce, through to main courses including pork belly stuffed with Italian sausage served with roast vegetables and char-grilled broccoli, or crispy skinned barramundi served with black rice and spinach, there’s something for all tastes and appetites.

Clubhouse classics on offer include a signature steak sandwich with house relish, lightly battered fish and chips, and a vegetarian burger that’ll have even carnivores licking their lips.

A selection of pastas – linguine with garlic prawns; baked gnocchi in a cheesy tomato sauce – complement six pizzas on offer including a meat lover calzone stuffed with Italian sausage, bacon, smoked ham, salami and chipotle sauce, and a classic Hawaiian.

Platters, including an antipasto board, build-your-own tacos, and the signature Minnippi platter filled with a selection of the most popular starters, are perfect for sharing with friends.

Kids aren’t forgotten, with the Tee-seburger and chips, and Spaghetti Hole-ignaise just some of the dishes sure to delight youngsters.

To complement the menu, an extensive range of drinks including wine and beer are offered along with a selection of alcohol-free drinks including smoothies, juices, milkshakes and more, with coffee by Brisbane-based Bear Bones Coffee.

A range of classic cocktails with a Cooee twist will be shaken and stirred behind the bar, and include the Dai-Cooee (white rum, dragon fruit, lime) and Minnippi-rita (agave, orange curacao, lime), while cocktail jugs including a pear and mandarin spritz will be sure to be a hit with groups gathering for sundowners or catching up over a drink.

Cooee is open daily for lunch, with dinner served Wednesday to Sunday. On weekends, breakfast is offered from 7.30am.

Bookings are recommended for lunch and dinner but walk-ins are welcome at any time.

To celebrate the grand opening of Cooee, Minnippi will be hosting a weekend of exciting activities 16-18 Feb, 2024.

The grand opening weekend will culminate in a family fun day on Sunday, February 18, featuring face painting, a petting zoo, live music, a jumping castle, and an obstacle course.

Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy a pop-up bar on the driving range, live music, a Mini Golf pop-up, putting competitions, giveaways, and much more.

The highlight of the weekend will be the Cooee Feastival on Sunday, with a Cooee pop-up on the range offering a selection of menu highlights available to purchase, along with a Revel Brewing Bar pop-up, prosecco cart, Bear Bones coffee and even a doggie ice-cream stall for four-legged friends.

“We are thrilled to bring Cooee Cafe and Restaurant to Minnippi Golf & Range,” said Anthony Lawrence, CEO of Clublinks, which manages the facility.

“Cooee will serve as a warm and welcoming local community hub, offering delicious food and beverages that are sure to delight our guests. It’s Brissie’s best food on the green, par none!”

Lawrence said the team was dedicated to fostering a vibrant community atmosphere that embraced golfers and non-golfers alike at Minnippi.

“Cooee Cafe and Restaurant will be the go-to place for the community to gather for family celebrations, catch-ups with friends, and after-work drinks. We are excited to offer this contemporary and inclusive experience that extends beyond the golf course itself.”

Coinciding with the launch of Cooee, the permanent Minnippi Golf Shop will also open its doors on Friday, 16 February. The Golf Shop stocks a range of classic and contemporary apparel, equipment and accessories including from local suppliers such as Mulligan Inc.

Minnippi Golf & Range is Brisbane’s first new public golf course in more than 70 years. Located in the scenic residential precinct at Minnippi Estate in Cannon Hill,  Minnippi Golf & Range offers a contemporary approach to dining, golf and community engagement.
