An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Golf Club General Manager at the spectacular Warrnambool Golf Course.

Located three hours southwest of Melbourne at the end of the Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool Golf Club is the region’s largest 18-hole golf course. Winding its way behind a tertiary dune system, this Peter Thomson designed course features several spectacular elevated tees, tea tree lined fairways and a number of tight driving holes.  Our course is proudly ranked as one of the top 50 public access courses in Australia and is home to LIV Golf Tour member and PGA Tour Champion Marc Leishman.

The club has recently completed the construction of its new $7.5m clubhouse and is currently working through the implementation of a new Strategic Plan and Course Enhancement Plan. With the support of our progressive Committee, this will provide the successful candidate a unique opportunity to make their mark on the Club and help drive growth and innovation over the coming years.

Reporting to the President and Committee, the successful applicant will be accountable for the effective and efficient operations of all aspects of the Club, including day-to-day management & administration, ensuring outstanding service to members and guests & oversight of Club functions and the Club bar & kitchen.

The successful applicant will also work closely with the Pro Shop, Club volunteers and Contractors.

The successful applicant must have:

• Excellent people, planning and management skills
• Competent business management and marketing skills
• Proven experience in a hospitality environment
  Golf industry knowledge is highly desirable

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Assisting the Committee implement the Club’s strategic plan
• Meeting revenue and membership targets while managing expenses within the approved budget
• Identifying and acting on sponsorship, promotion and grant funding opportunities
• Oversee all aspects of club administration, secretarial & accounting activities
• Dealing with all club stakeholders including members, local council, contractors, employees and the broader community
• Manage bar, kitchen, catering & premise operations
• Oversight of course maintenance and capital projects in consultation with Course Superintendent
