Pacific Golf Club is 1 year into an exciting new chapter, having opened a brand-new clubhouse with state-of-the-art facilities in January 2024. With two golf courses (including a Par-3 course), putting green, chipping & bunker green, mini golf, golf simulators, a stunning beer garden, restaurant and bar, we’ve become the ultimate destination for fun, relaxation, and connection in Brisbane’s Southside. With 1360 members and more than 65,000 rounds played at the facility each year, we pride ourselves on creating exceptional experiences for our members, guests, and community.
Position Summary
The Golf Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the strategic vision, growth, and operations of golf at Pacific Golf Club – Carindale. This role is ideal for a PGA-qualified professional (not essential) with extensive industry experience, a track record of building high-performing teams, and a deep understanding of growing golf businesses (revenue and utilisation).
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Golf Manager will oversee the golf shop, coaching programs, events, and facilities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who also ensures the fundamentals of golf operations are executed flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

- Implement and drive the Golf Operations Strategic Plan and supporting initiatives.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase membership, utilisation, and revenue across all golf-related areas.
- Identify and create new revenue opportunities, particularly in the simulator and driving range space.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, industry bodies, sponsors, and suppliers.
Team Leadership & Culture

- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing, customer-focused golf team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture, ensuring alignment with PGC’s values.
- Ensure excellent service delivery to members and guests.
Retail & Merchandising
- Work with the Golf Operations Team leader with a focus on optimising sales and inventory.
- Oversee the golf shop, ensuring a strong and profitable retail operation.
Golf Events & Competitions
- Plan and execute a structured golf calendar including tournaments, member events, and external competitions.
- Grow and enhance Pennant programs, ensuring PGC remains competitive.
- Develop junior and women’s golf programs to foster inclusivity and participation.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Manage the golf department budget, ensuring financial sustainability and cost control.
- Ensure efficient course utilisation through data analysis and operational improvements.
- Oversee the simulator, mini golf and driving range facilities, ensuring a premium experience and strong financial returns.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all OHS policies, licensing laws, industrial relations laws, and workplace conduct policies.
- Develop, implement, and oversee golf policies and procedures to maintain industry best practices.
Sponsorship & Partnerships
- Build relationships with sponsors and corporate partners to support club events and initiatives.
- Leverage industry connections to create opportunities for strategic growth.
Key Qualities & Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will be:

✅ PGA-qualified with extensive experience in the golf industry is beneficial but not essential
✅ An exceptional communicator who can engage members, staff, and external stakeholders.
✅ Highly organised with strong time management and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
✅ Comfortable analysing and interpreting data to drive continuous improvement.
✅ Experienced in MiClub (preferred but not essential).
Remuneration Package
The final package will be negotiated based on the successful candidate’s experience level.
