About

St Lucia Golf Links is an 18-hole pay-and-play public golf course located a few minutes’ drive from Brisbane CBD.

The golf course is one of Brisbane’s oldest and has hosted several Queensland Open and PGA tournaments. The layout suits golfers of all levels.

Facilities include an 18-hole golf course (Par 69), a simulator, a fully stocked Golf Shop, Callaway Fitting Centre, a historic Hillstone clubhouse, including three function rooms, Hundred Acre (Bar, Bakery, Restaurant) and a Mini Golf Course.

We are recruiting for an energetic and motivated Golf Attendant to join our team. Prior experience in golf or hospitality is preferred.

The position provides a great long-term career development opportunity for the successful candidate.

GOLF SHOP

  • Provides friendly welcome to all persons entering the Golf Shop
  • Check in players for golf and Mini Golf and take payments
  • Provide suggestion for retail sales and takes payments for such sales.
  • Ensures players who have hired carts and / or clubs have completed the Rental Agreement and key terms explained.
  • When hiring golf clubs, to check that the rental set is complete and clubs in good order.
  • Sells Gift vouchers upon requests.
  • Rents the Simulator and provides assistance as required.
  • Sells drinks, chocolates and ice cream from the fridge/freezer.
  • Keeps track of carts allocation to golfers.
  • Answers telephone and handles enquiries for all areas of SLGL.
  • Responds to email enquiries as required.
  • Ensures the Golf Shop is clean and presentable and vacuums/sweeps the Golf Shop daily.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Golf Manger.

OFFICE DUTIES

  • Respond to all emails within 48hours.
  • Take advanced bookings for Mini Golf Parties and Social Golf Bookings
  • Liaise with organisers of groups in planning their golf/mini golf day.
  • Assist with organising and hosting corporate golf days as needed.
  • Assist with running Golf, Mini Golf and Simulator Competitions.
  • Assist with maintaining the online golf shop and handling of orders and deliveries.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving stock with coordination from the Golf Manager.
  • Available to work 38 hours over 5 days per week including weekends with flexibility of which 2 days RDO’s fall on each week.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Golf Manager.

MARSHALL

  • Inspect course to ensure speed of play is acceptable and to resolve any on course issues.
  • Ensures players are adhering to the Course Rules including safe use of golf carts, attire and general behaviour,
  • Provides polite, respectful but firm instructions to golfers as required.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Golf Manager.
  • Ensure players are not playing without having checked in and paid their green fees

 MINI GOLF

  • Welcomes all Mini Golfers and explains how Mini Golf operates
  • Acts as host for groups including birthday parties.
  • Checks and supervises the Mini Golf area.
  • Ensures the area is always clean and safe.
  • Ensures our rules of Mini Golf are adhered to at all times.
  • Reports any maintenance or safety issues to the Golf Shop
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Golf Manager.

Remuneration:

The position is full-time and salaried.
